Anniversary Celebrations in Veere
Crossing the water works of Zeeland on my trip from Amsterdam to Veera, I contemplated on how many storms a marriage of 50 years has to endure before it's celebrated. It needs an extraordinary sized bottle of champagne for sure, good friends next to family, and a nice meal. All ingredients were present and we had a good time. It was nice to see all those pictures of long years back and share memories of later years. Once more, many congratulations!
Time for champagne! |

I AMsterdammed Last Week
The first day of my short celebration visit to The Netherlands was to Amsterdam, to meet Camila and Freek joining for dinner. We stayed at the beautiful Prinsengracht, in Pulitzer. And had a nice dinner (together with Kiki) at Scheltema, one of those typical Amsterdam cafes.

Traveling to Holland
On Delhi airport, waiting for a plane to Brussels. This week celebrations on the special day of 9th May; 50th anniversary of my parents. And so I'm traveling to The Netherlands.
Very strange "to be in India without crossing the border". It somehow makes it very explicit how much more I miss India than I thought earlier. But not the security checks ...

Prom
Yesterday Melissa and Mark went to prom. Just turned 18 Melissa looks like a true film star, Hollywood in Bradenton!
This is Melissa's last prom at IMG, after the summer she will start at Loyola University (with the Fathers Jesuits ...) and play Division I tennis!

Diving at Coron
Four days of great diving at Coron (Basuanga Island) just finished ...
It was great to dive a 70 year old wreck of WWII, completely covered with coral, with still the remains of a car 32m deep after all those years. Wonderful to swim with turtles, watch the dugong and many sharks, to see even a Napoleon Wrasse with juvenile!
Absolute top were the house reef of the Paradise Island Resort and Apo Reef is world class. As was staying with Vicky at her guesthouse at Maricaban Bay.
The first picture is sunset from the boat returning from Dugong watching, the other is sunrise from Vicky's veranda. Hard to make a choice ...

Coron
Waiting at Singapore airport on my way for an Eastern weekend diving at Coron, the most northern island of Palawan, Philippines. Coron is famous for Dugongs (the only sea cows that fully live in salt water) and Japanese WOII wrecks.
