Move is planned!

Tuesday 29 September 2009 the relocation company will bring our furniture to our new house. Finaly... (We like the hotel and its staff very much, everyone is very nice. On the other hand, we are looking very much forward to be on our "own"!)

But as Monday 28 September is Dussehra (Vijaya Dashami) and a very auspicious date to move (more about that later) but also a holiday, we have to fix that in some way!

Empty house with a sea view

Today we received the keys of our bungalow at Petit Hall. It looks great, all fresh painted and just waiting to bring in our stuff ... That stuff, by the way, arrived and is now being guided through and by the Indian bureaucracy. Will take around seven days.

Melissa in Forida

Melissa arrived sound and save in Florida! She had a hard trip; her plane from Hong Kong to San Francisco arrived late. So instead of a direct flight from San Francisco to Tampa, she first had to fly to Chicago, to continue from there to Tampa. And when she arrived there were no suitcases ...
But this morning the suitcases arrived and tomorrow appears to be a holiday, so she has another day to recover! And the Colombian girl in her room is nice. What more do you want? Perhaps just playing tennis!

Still in a hotel

All our furniture is now on a boat, on its way to Mumbai to arrive around 21 September. It will take some time to get it through customs, but we hope to move in our new home about 25 September. Till that time we (continue to) stay in a hotel, the ITC Grand Central. Close to work and quite central. The picture shows us in the bar on the 30th floor, when we were surprised by these girls at the evening of my birthday (we were here for the house hunting) with a birth day cake.

Lonavla

Yesterday Ivone and I were in Lonavla, a two hour drive from Mumbai. My new department at work had a "picnic" in a the Fariyas Resort in this nice place. Great views and in the hills. After arriving from Hong Kong it was clearly colder. Picnic has a different meaning from what we expected; everyone enjoyed the swimming pool, lots of great food, and many games to play. It was nice way to meet all my new colleagues. And also a nice way for Ivone to meet them.
