Garden works

Hard works and lots of progress in the garden of Casteloes! Under Miguel's supervision the works are progressing, it already looks completely different. Today Miguel sent these pictures. The olive trees are cut to decent proportions (they were too high, one of them collapsed on the roof this winter), all rubish has been removed, egalization of the ground, and ... the first flowers! It will be a joy to stay there.

Thanks, Dina and Miguel!

Cherry blossom

This week I was in Bangkok and in Tokyo.

In Bangkok they were walking a elephant on Sukhumvit (one of the bigger streets trough the city, here is also the hotel where I most times stay). A very strange view, probably some kind of a tourist attraction. Poor elephant. I tried to take a picture with my mobile phone, but didn't succeed fast enough.

Emmalaan, a street crossing our street where we lived in the Soest - The Netherlands every year had a week all its cherry blossom trees full with pink flowers, a marvelous view. When the local government want to remove these trees and replace them with some other, I joint the action to preserve the cherry blossom for the Emmalaan.

Tokyo was full of cherry blossom, a major event in Japan. Many people travel to the parks and the roads where they are concentrated to watch, make pictures, and worship at special events. Likewise in the shrine nearby our office.
